A holistic experience for holistic treatments
WIN diagnoses and treats health conditions utilizing specialized testing and the latest medical research. They specialized in finding the cause of the symptom using a variety of specialized quantitative neurological testing, which includes the patient’s genetics and metabolic biomarkers as guides.
THE PROBLEM
The Wellness Institute of Neurodevelopment (WIN) is exclusive and renowned by the international media, thanks to the studies of its primary doctor, Dr. Baez. Unfortunately, their website did not reflect the center’s growth in recent years. Dr. Baez contacted us to redesign her website to give it a more professional identity and reach the international market focusing on patients interested in telemedicine.
THE CHALLENGE
The WIN team had already been organizing virtual events for some time as follow-ups for those interviews Dr. Baez participated in. They had already been promoting telemedicine consultations for a few years. WIN was interested in having a responsive website that would give them more of a hospital/clinic look, highlighting the various conditions they worked with and treatments offered.
THE SOLUTION
A responsive website where future and existing patients can schedule appointments, attend workshops and virtual events, take evaluations, learn more about their conditions, and find the best treatments. The new website also promotes the WIN Education Program, which provides parents with alternative solutions and tools to help their children succeed at home and in their learning environments. Additionally, the website allows educational entities and companies to request speaking engagements with Dr. Baez.
Exploration
The exploration phase of this project was dedicated to learning everything about the center: the conditions, the treatments, the programs, the technology, Dr. Baez’s media interviews, its possible competitors, and collecting inspiration from other hospital and clinic websites. During this process, I also analyzed all the forms a patient typically fills out before joining WIN to deliver a more fluid experience with less friction.
Defining a new identity
During this project stage, I defined the typography, the colors, and the images that would give life to the new website. One of the challenges was that the center did not have recent photography, so I recommended combining their older photography with stock images. The idea was to mix them naturally as long as they maintained the center’s brand essence. I focused on finding images representing wellness and holistic treatments instead of cold hospital environments.
Wireframing and Prototyping
Once the client approved the identity, I worked on a series of sketches that reflected different pages that users could land on from search engines. From the wireframes, I used Figma to work on the high-fidelity prototypes for each page and create additional user flows to present to the client.
Content Population and Quality Assurance
Once the developer completed the template for the new website, I collaborated with other designers in the content population while auditing the design and taking notes of elements that needed revision. During this stage, based on experience, the client shared her opinion about the layout of specific pages, which we modified before the official launch.
